Groups
A Group is an organizational concept, which can most closely be described as a 'location', such as a venue, hall or stadium.
- Groups are defined by location and group type.
- Groups contain their own headline banner.
- Groups can contain their own Sponsorship collateral.
- Groups can also contain their own video / image gallery.
- Groups maintain & report on:
- Streams
- Usage
- Attendance
- Recordings
Workflow
Admin users creat groups as the basic organization structure to contain streams.
Group Listing View
The Group Listing view is the page you are navigated to when you click Groups in the VisionStream admin sideNav.
This page will contain a listing of all the groups in your account.
Published vs. Hidden Groups
- Published groups will display in calendars and other forward-facing pages.
- Unpublished groups are hidden and cannot be accessed by an attendee.
Create New Group
Press the '+' icon in the upper right of the Group listing page to open the Create New Group page.

Calendar Visibility
It is often desirable to keep a group hidden from attendees until you have completed setting it up. Once you toggle the Publish to Site control to Yes, the Group will display in the Calendar, and other forward-facing pages.
User Login Options
VisionStream groups are made available to your attendees via a VisionStream site portal. There are several different login scenarios you can employ at the attendee login screen to allow access to your content.
- Default
- The default behavior once you have imported your attendees directly into your account, and prefer to restrict viewership to only those attendees. The attendee only has to enter their email address to gain access to your published group.
- Allow Guest Sign-In
- Use this option if you wish to provide anonymous attendees the ability to add themselves to your attendee list.
- Attendees will be required to authenticate themselves using a valid email address.
- Use this option if you wish to provide anonymous attendees the ability to add themselves to your attendee list.
- Require Authentication
- Requires ALL attendees to authenticate themselves ONE TIME before access is granted to an Group.
- Offers heightened security by ensuring the attendee is actually who they claim to be.
- Requires ALL attendees to authenticate themselves ONE TIME before access is granted to an Group.
Sponsors
VisionStream offers you the ability to incorporate sponsorship collateral into your group.
Sponsorship galleries are created by pressing the Create Smart Album button.
Once you have created a Smart Album, you can drag and drop images into the album, and then move the items into the sponsorship gallery.
Edit Group
You can edit any Group and change the values of any field.
Group Overview
The Group overview page allows you to view high-level components which comprise a group.

To enter the Group SubView Page, click on any Group title in the Group listing page.
Streams
To view all the streams associated with an Group, select the Streams tab button.
You will be navigated to a new page containing a listing which includes all the streams belonging to the group.
Usage
A Usage profile is generated after every stream has been completed. At the group level, Usage is calculated as the cumulative usage of all streams belonging to the group.
Usage is delivered in two categories:
- Usage
- Streaming in hours
- Packaging in GB's
- Delivery in GB's
- Conversion in minutes
- Storage in GB
- Charges
- Streaming in USD
- Packaging in USD
- Delivery in USD
- Conversion in USD
- Storage in USD
Attendance
Attendance is automatically tracked for every stream.
At the group level, attendance is calculated as the cumulative attendance of all streams belonging to the group.
View attendee by:
- Name
- City
Recordings
- Show Recordings feature allows admins to see all recordings within any group.
- Recordings are output both as HLS and MP4 (optional) format.
- Recordings can be viewed once a stream has completed.
- MP4 Recordings can be downloaded and saved by VisionStream admin users.
